A ZeeTour is a guided tour you'll take using your mobile phone. The tour is interactive, with Compass, Photo, Trivia, and Fun Fact Challenges present throughout. You'll be navigating through the city, taking Facebook/Instagram-worthy pictures, answering questions based on what you'll find at certain locations, and learning new things along the way!
Yes, you'll need to create an account using your e-mail address and a password. This will allow us to show you information about all the tours you complete, and also prevents anyone else from using a tour that you've purchased.
You can purchase ZeeTours directly in our app or on our website. From the ZeeTours web site, you can buy a VOUCHER to use in the app. A link to purchase the voucher, with instructions is here: LINK
First, please check your junk/spam folders for the e-mail with your voucher code. If you still can't find it, please let us know at support@zeetoursapp.com.
On the Login screen, simply tap on the [Forgot your password? Tap here to reset] link. Enter the email address associated with your account, and tap [Submit]. You should receive an e-mail with a link to reset your password.
You can start a ZeeTour at any time! No reservations required.
Yes! We'll bring you to some locations you may want to go indoors for though!
Nope! We provide directions to each location you'll be visiting, and also a compass to help you find your way when the directions use NSEW. If you get stuck, you can view the waypoint in your default Map app by tapping on the [View Map] button.
Nope! Our tours provide for maximum flexibility - no waiting on a tour guide. We have designed the app so that you can never truly get stuck -- Compass Challenges can be skipped, Photo Challenges accept any photo (do your best to take a picture of what we ask for!), and Trivia Challenges allow you as many tries as you need to get the right answer.
Only if you choose to! Our challenges sometimes bring you to a paid attraction but NEVER require you to enter it.
No, ZeeTours are not timed. Explore the locations that are interesting to you, take a break for lunch, or take extra time to capture that perfect photo. No penalties to your score for taking your time.
Only after you've completed it. 30 days after, to be exact!
Any number of people can be on a team; however, we recommend at least 2 people (to make picture-taking easier), and at most 5 people (so that everyone has a chance to participate). However at this time, when you purchase a ZeeTour, it is only visible on one device. That may change in the future.
Yes, you just need purchase a VOUCHER code from our web site HERE, then tell your friend to download the ZeeTours app and apply the Voucher code you bought for them!
Yes, of course! Give us your money ;) However, you should know that, for now, ZeeTours are located in cities throughout the United States. Some day, we will expand to other countries. We'll let you know!
You may start at any time; however, we generally recommend that you plan to complete the ZeeTour before sunset, as some locations may be harder to find in the dark. Some tours have recommended hours so that you have the option to explore certain free/paid attractions -- these are typically listed in the tour description (visible after tapping on [Details]).
While conditions vary at each location, we have parking recommendations just before you tap on the [Start the Tour] button.
ZeeTours typically take 2 - 4 hours.
Nope! You can stop a ZeeTour at any time and pick up right where you left off later!
The address for the starting location is listed in the ZeeTour Details -- simply scroll down after tapping [Details] for a specific hunt!
Typically, as long as a person is able to walk for the 2 - 4 hours needed to complete the tour, age is no issue. We indicate which tours are Kid Friendly with an Accessibility Icon, which you can see at the bottom of a ZeeTour Details screen.
In most cases, ZeeTours require you to walk a distance of 3 miles or less, but sometimes more. You can take as much time as you need! If a tour takes you through a particularly steep path, we'll indicate this in our Accessibility icons, which you can see at the bottom of a ZeeTour Details screen.
Our list of recommended (but not required) items is shown at the start of every ZeeTour. Here it is, for reference:
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Bottle of water to stay hydrated
- Fully charged phone battery
- External battery or charger in case of emergencies
- Don't forget your thinking caps!
Some areas don't allow pets to enter, or may not be very convenient for you and your pet to walk around. If we think a tour is Pet Friendly, we indicate it with an Accessibility Icon, which is at the bottom of a ZeeTour Details screen.
As long as you follow the laws for the location you're touring and stay safe, why not?
Unfortunately, this is currently not possible, but we definitely plan to add this feature to our app in a future update! When you purchase a tour, it is visible on one device.
You are awarded points for completing challenges in ZeeTours as follows:
- 25 points for Compass Challenges
- 50 points to Gryffindor -- just kidding -- 50 points for Photo Challenges
- 100 points MAX for Trivia Challenges (-25 points for every wrong answer chosen)
Yes. However, you may want to stagger your start times, so that the different locations aren't too crowded! Regardless of when you start, all teams will be competing for the top spots on the leaderboard.
Yes. We try to include digestible bits of history and other information about each location. Our players have told us that despite having lived in some of our tour locations, they were surprised at how much they were able to learn!
Currently this is not possible, but we are definitely working to include this feature in the next update!
ZeeTours can only be played on phones that are able to connect to the internet without Wi-fi. As you probably already know, many locations do not offer free Wi-fi; hence the requirement for the device to be able to use 3G/4G/LTE/etc.
Yes. That's the beauty of ZeeTours. Everything is accessible through one app without using your web browser.
Simply tap on the [View Completed Challenges] button at the bottom of the screen, then tap on the challenge in the list.
If you bought a tour from a source other than our app, you'll need to navigate to the tour you purchased in the "Find Tours" section, then enter in your voucher number, which you should have received upon purchase. It is also possible that, after completing a tour, it has expired. Tours expire 30 days after you've completed them. Otherwise, please e-mail our support team at support@zeetoursapp.com.
